The camping barns, sometimes known as “stone tents,” are a part of the YHA network. Often located on working farms, Camping Barns vary in facilities ranging from a basic roof over your head to the more luxurious, which include a shower and cooking facilities. Sleeping areas tend to be communal so unless you book sole-use, expect to be sleeping close to someone you may not know. Camping Barns are ideal for individuals, families and groups. They are particularly popular with Duke of Edinburgh groups. As the facilities in Camping Barns differ, you’ll be told what you need to bring when you book, but always remember a good sleeping bag and mat, warm clothes, torch and good walking sticks / boots or wellies.
